Datos recientes apuntan a que los h\u00e1bitos de vida se adquieren en edades tempranas, concretamente alrededor de los 3-8 a\u00f1os, y que persisten en la vida adulta. Para proporcionar datos m\u00e1s detallados sobre los ni\u00f1os, el Dr. Fuster puso en marcha un estudio de intervenci\u00f3n comunitaria en 14 escuelas colombianas, en colaboraci\u00f3n con los famosos programas de televisi\u00f3n \u00abBarrio S\u00e9samo\u00bb y \u00abPlaza S\u00e9samo\u00bb. Los resultados obtenidos parecen confirmar que las intervenciones educativas en las poblaciones escolares consiguen aumentar significativamente el conocimiento que los ni\u00f1os tienen de su propio cuerpo, as\u00ed como la adopci\u00f3n de h\u00e1bitos saludables a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p>Las enfermedades cardiovasculares contin\u00faan siendo la primera causa de muerte en el mundo [1]. Son enfermedades complejas y responden a diferentes factores de riesgo, la mayor\u00eda de ellos modificables, que se adquieren en las edades m\u00e1s tempranas de la vida. Una vez adquiridas las conductas de comportamiento, estas se transfieren a la edad adulta [2, 3]. La sociedad actual ha desarrollado entornos que, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos, no favorecen que los individuos adquieran y mantengan h\u00e1bitos de vida saludables. Los expertos coinciden en que el \u00fanico modo de evitar el incremento de las enfermedades cardiovasculares pasa por un cambio en el estilo de vida de la poblaci\u00f3n y una concienciaci\u00f3n sobre la necesidad de promover h\u00e1bitos saludables. En este sentido, la promoci\u00f3n de la salud cardiovascular en la infancia representa una gran<\/p>\n<p>* Alliance between the Hospital Mount Sinai Heart, the Sesame Workshop in New York, US, and the Fundaci\u00f3n Cardioinfantil (Foundation for the care of Children\u2019s Heart) of Bogot\u00e1, Colombia<\/p>\n<p>oportunidad para la prevenci\u00f3n primaria, particularmente en pa\u00edses emergentes, donde se est\u00e1 sufriendo un cambio importante en comportamientos relacionados con la salud [4]. La estructura para implementar estas estrategias deber\u00eda incluir programas escolares y comunitarios que promuevan la actividad f\u00edsica y la alimentaci\u00f3n cardiosaludable, con el objetivo de combatir la carga de enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas asociadas a la vida sedentaria y la obesidad [5-8]. En base a todo lo anterior, el Dr. Fuster llev\u00f3 a cabo un estudio en Colombia bajo la premisa de que las intervenciones educativas que se inician a una edad temprana pueden favorecer que m\u00e1s adelante se adopten conductas y actitudes saludables. As\u00ed pues, y con la colaboraci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Julio Mario Santo Domingo y el conocido programa de televisi\u00f3n \u00abPlaza S\u00e9samo\u00bb, el Dr. Fuster puso en marcha en Bogot\u00e1 un programa para educar a ni\u00f1os en edad preescolar sobre temas relacionados con el ejercicio, la alimentaci\u00f3n saludable y el conocimiento del cuerpo.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio incluy\u00f3 a 1.216 ni\u00f1os de 3 a 5 a\u00f1os, a 928 padres y a 120 profesores de 14 escuelas. Las escuelas participantes fueron divididas aleatoriamente en dos grupos (1:1): 7 escuelas formaron parte del grupo de intervenci\u00f3n para la promoci\u00f3n de la salud cardiovascular, mientras que las otras 7 escuelas sirvieron de grupo control, es decir, no se realiz\u00f3 en ellas ninguna intervenci\u00f3n (simplemente se hizo seguimiento durante el mismo per\u00edodo de tiempo para comparar los resultados, si bien, y una vez finalizado el estudio, los alumnos de estas escuelas s\u00ed que recibieron una formaci\u00f3n similar [9]).(Figura 1).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d9d0227 animated-slow elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"d9d0227\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"516\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/vfmsfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/tabla_1-516x542-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-1255\" alt=\"DIAGRAMA\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vfmsfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/tabla_1-516x542-1.jpg 516w, https:\/\/vfmsfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/tabla_1-516x542-1-286x300.jpg 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 516px) 100vw, 516px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a2a283 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1a2a283\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Figura 1.<\/strong> <em>Inscripci\u00f3n, aleatorizaci\u00f3n y seguimiento de la poblaci\u00f3n a estudio.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Los ni\u00f1os incluidos en el grupo de intervenci\u00f3n recibieron una hora diaria de educaci\u00f3n sobre h\u00e1bitos saludables y sobre c\u00f3mo funciona el cuerpo humano. La educaci\u00f3n se realizaba a trav\u00e9s de videos producidos por \u00abPlaza S\u00e9samo\u00bb y juegos de mesa (\u00abjuego del coraz\u00f3n\u00bb), as\u00ed como a trav\u00e9s de cuentos, canciones y la colocaci\u00f3n de p\u00f3sters en las aulas con tem\u00e1tica relativa a la salud [9]. Adicionalmente, tanto los ni\u00f1os como los padres y profesores, participaron en seminarios de una hora a la semana (\u00abD\u00eda de la familia saludable\u00bb), en el que se repart\u00eda informaci\u00f3n impresa sobre c\u00f3mo promover el ejer\u00adcicio f\u00edsico o mejorar la alimentaci\u00f3n [9]. A los padres tambi\u00e9n se les impartieron 3 talleres enfocados a promocionar el consumo de alimentos saludables y la pr\u00e1ctica de ejercicio. Por ejemplo, en zonas con poco acceso a parques o lugares de recreo, los padres fueron formados para alentar a sus hijos para que usaran las escaleras en vez de los ascensores y a que caminaran en vez de tomar el autob\u00fas [9].<\/p>\n<p>Para evaluar objetivamente qu\u00e9 efecto tuvo la intervenci\u00f3n, los investigadores utilizaron cuestionarios para medir, tanto en los ni\u00f1os (objetivo principal del estudio) como en los padres y profesores (objetivo secundario), el nivel de conocimiento del cuerpo y del coraz\u00f3n, el nivel de actividad f\u00edsica y los h\u00e1bitos en alimentaci\u00f3n y estilo de vida saludables Las mediciones ser realizaron antes de empezar la intervenci\u00f3n y a los 6 y 18 meses despu\u00e9s de haberla iniciado. Los cuestionarios fueron desarrollaros por psic\u00f3\u00adlogos, pediatras, educadores y expertos en nutrici\u00f3n y en desarrollo infantil. Tambi\u00e9n se midi\u00f3 el peso y altura de los ni\u00f1os al inicio del estudio, justo al finalizar la intervenci\u00f3n y al a\u00f1o de acabar el programa.<\/p>\n<p>Al final de la intervenci\u00f3n, los investigadores documentaron un mayor aumento en la puntaci\u00f3n total sobre el conocimiento, la actitud y los h\u00e1bitos saludables entre los ni\u00f1os que participaron en las actividades l\u00fadico-educativas (+10,9%) en comparaci\u00f3n con los ni\u00f1os del grupo que no recibieron esta formaci\u00f3n (+5,3%). Este aumento tambi\u00e9n fue mayor en los padres y profesores del grupo intervenci\u00f3n (+8,9% y + 9,4%) que en los padres y profesores del grupo control (+3,1% y +2,5%, respectivamente). Adem\u00e1s, en el grupo de intervenci\u00f3n esta mejor\u00eda en el conocimiento y en la adquisici\u00f3n de h\u00e1bitos saludables perduraba, en todos los casos, despu\u00e9s de un a\u00f1o de finalizar el programa [9].<\/p>\n<p>Pasados 3 a\u00f1os, los investigadores volvieron a evaluar a 598 ni\u00f1os y a 475 padres que hab\u00edan participado en el estudio. Con respecto al momento en que se realiz\u00f3 el estudio, se observ\u00f3 una mejor\u00eda en el conocimiento de los ni\u00f1os del 15%, de un 51% en su actitud hacia el tema y de un 27% en sus h\u00e1bitos de vida saludables. Adicionalmente, el porcentaje de ni\u00f1os con un peso adecuado pas\u00f3 del 62% al 75% [10].<\/p>\n<p>En conclusi\u00f3n, el estudio ha demostrado que dedicar cuarenta horas a formar a ni\u00f1os en edad preescolar en h\u00e1bitos saludables logra aumentar significativamente el conocimiento que tienen de su propio cuerpo, as\u00ed como promover eficazmente la adopci\u00f3n de dichos h\u00e1bitos. Estas mejoras se han seguido registrando tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de la intervenci\u00f3n, cuando los ni\u00f1os ya ten\u00edan entre seis y ocho a\u00f1os, hecho que demuestra que los beneficios de un programa educativo de estas caracter\u00edsticas se mantienen a largo plazo [10]. Sin embargo, se hizo una re-intervenci\u00f3n 7 a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde a 596 ni\u00f1os de entre 9 y 13 a\u00f1os del primer estudio, y se compar\u00f3 con un grupo de 620 ni\u00f1os de la misma edad que no hab\u00edan sido intervenidos en la etapa preescolar No se encontraron diferencias estad\u00edsticamente significativas entre los grupos despu\u00e9s de la intervenci\u00f3n a los 9-13 a\u00f1os, por lo que parece importante que las estrategias de re-intervenci\u00f3n se realicen a edades m\u00e1s tempranas para mantener un efecto sostenido de la intervenci\u00f3n preescolar [12]. 650 children\/families of the 1,216 belonging to the original cohort, 530 (81.5%) from the towns of Usaqu\u00e9n and Suba, in private and public schools (n = 70 schools). During the months of September and October 2016, cardiovascular health was measured in children and adults (Table 1) and KAHE in children.[11] The data collected will be recorded in an Excel database, 2010 version, and a statistical analysis will be performed.
