AESAN
The Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs -formerly the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN)– participates in the NAOS Strategy (Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention).
The Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) incorporates and carries out, within the framework of the General State Administration, functions relating to the promotion and fostering of consumer and user rights regarding goods and services, as well as food safety and healthy eating.
The fundamental objectives of AESAN are:
•To promote and foster consumer and user rights, both in terms of product safety and of their economic interests.
•To promote food safety by offering guarantees and objective information to consumers and economic agents in the Spanish agro-food sector.
•To plan, coordinate and develop strategies and lines of action that foster information, education and health promotion in the area of nutrition, and particularly in the prevention of obesity.
F. SHE
The SHE Foundation devotes its efforts to creating a frame of reference for what an education in health means and involves, stressing the acquirement of healthy habits from childhood in order to promote a world in which children, young people and adults have the ability to act positively towards their health.
