Biography:
Marilyn Hunn is Administrator of Global Projects. She joined Dr. Valentín Fuster’s team in 2010, focusing on global projects in Grenada and Colombia. She has worked closely with Dr. Fuster at the American Heart Association and the World Heart Federation.
From 2002-2010, Marilyn was with the World Heart Federation (WHF), initially as Executive Director of the World Heart and Stroke Forum. In 2004, the Forum was integrated into the WHF, and she assumed the position Director of Science. As Director of Science, she managed activities that included: applied research projects in China, Colombia and Grenada; regional scientific meetings in Africa, Asia and Latin America; World Congresses of Cardiology in Sydney Australia, Buenos Aires Argentina, Barcelona Spain, and Beijing China, and scientific publications, including the World Heart Federation Journal-CVD Prevention and Control.
Previously, Marilyn was elected treasurer of the World Heart Federation and appointed a member of the Federation’s Executive Board in 1999. Her nomination came at a time when the World Heart Federation was undergoing a period of change to become a recognised international organization working on the prevention of cardiovascular disease worldwide. This nomination followed a period of two years when Marilyn was Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association.
As a healthcare consultant, for Hunn Associates, she has been involved in projects focusing on long range and strategic planning, developing business opportunities and management of rehabilitation services of healthcare corporations and physician practices.
Prior to consulting, Marilyn was Administrator of the Kentfield Hospital Corporation in California where she developed a 60-bed acute rehabilitation hospital, recruited, trained and managed personnel and programmes.
She is an author on the Principles for National and Regional Guidelines for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, published in Circulation, June 2004, and other publications related to the global projects.
She has lectured at Stanford University, Loma Linda University and California State University in Northridge, USA.

Biography:
John Persaud is the Director of Finance for the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI). He joined the CVI in 2005, after retiring from the Financial Division of the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was employed for 35 years. During his tenure in the Financial Division he was responsible for the administration and financial reporting for the institution’s extramural grants and contracts and, restricted funds.
Among his many roles in the CVI, he is responsible, in conjunction with the institution Financial Division, to assure that the Mount Sinai Valentín Fuster Foundation IRS 990 is filed and the report is distributed to the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. John is also responsible for the Foundation finances by assuring that the gifts and donations are appropriately expended in accordance with the donors instructions.

Biography:
Carlos began his professional career in Marketing as a Panasonic Product Manager in 1989.
Two years later he moved to the BBDP Group in Spain as Account Director and in 1994 he joined Ogilvy Pr. in Barcelona (Bassat Ogilvy & Mather) as Office Director.
In 2002 Carlos joined T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom‘s subsidiary in Spain, as Marketing Director. He stayed 8 years, always as a Board member becoming also CIO, MD Portugal and Managing Director for Spain and Portugal beginning 2008.
Later he moved to the non- profit organizations as a General Manager of Science Health and Education (SHE) International Foundation -being Dr. Valentín Fuster the chairman – based on the science of general and clinical research, its objective is to promote health through communication and education of the public.
Carles joined Mount Sinai Health System in 2014 as Senior Director of Operations in the Department of Cardiology reporting to Dr. Fuster in a joined Europe-US position. In coordination with the Marketing & Communications and the Development teams, he has been focused in planning and execution of fundraising activities; communication and building relationship with the community; donors and potential donors, district employees at the administrative level; and oversee the administrative tasks of some of the international research projects.
Carles has always shown an interest for Pr Online and Social Media being involved in different Start up initiatives.
