Biography:

Evan Bennett received his Masters in Architecture from Princeton University and his Bachelors in Art History from Oberlin College. He also studied at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen.

At VAMOS, Evan has led a variety of culturally and community-oriented adaptive reuse projects, including a 35,000 sf conversion of seven warehouses in Long Island City into retail and cultural spaces for the not-for-profit organization Artists Wanted and for Rockrose Development, as well as a 3,000 sf multipurpose cultural event space for Diane von Furstenberg Studio.

Prior to forming VAMOS, Evan worked with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and with the Rockwell Group in New York. He has taught at Cornell University and Parsons The New School for Design. Evan is a registered architect in New York State, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED-Accredited Professional. He is a Member of the NYC Design Week Community-Oriented Programming Subcommittee and a founder of the North 3rd Block Association.
